The Top 100 MLM and Direct Sales Companies In The World 2012

The Direct Selling News (D.S.N.) is a well-respected global leader in news and research regarding the Direct Sales, MLM, and Network Marketing. industry. The Direct Selling News has been a well-respected source of information  for the modern networker since 2004. Every year Direct Selling News does extensive research to bring us The Top 100 MLM and Direct Sales Companies  In The World 2012.

Here is what the D.S.N. found in the industry last year.

  • Total wholesale revenue of $66 billion
  • The Top 10 companies accounted for $39 billion in sales alone
  • More than 43 million distributors/independent consultants joined the industry worldwide
  • Companies on the list represented 14 nations—United States (65), Japan (16), Germany (4), Peru (2), United Kingdom (2), South Korea (2), Switzerland (2), Brazil (1), China (1), India (1), Malaysia (1), Mexico (1), Russia (1), and Sweden (1)
  • 11 new companies joined the rankings (Southwestern, Vivint, PM-International AG, Enagic USA, Stella & Dot, Thirty-One Gifts, AdvoCare, TriVita, Pure Romance, World Financial Group and Passion Parties.
Although my title says 2012, these are actually the results of 2011. Naturally the information used to comprise such a list would have to come from the previous years stats.

Through my own research, I’ve decided to give you additional information, not found on the D.S.N. site. Now as you read this information, I need you to understand that these are facts and not my opinion.

The only opinion I will interject is that you should take a second look at joining a company if they are  not in at least the top 20 of this list. I can’t say objectively that you shouldn’t join a company that’s not on this list, or in the top 20, because that would be saying that there are no successful start-ups. I am not writing this article to cast a negative light or a dark cloud on any one particular company. I decided to write this article  because I get plenty of calls from networkers all across the country, asking me to evaluate their current company,or a company they are considering joining. The list is just one of the tools I use to evaluate a company before I give my stamp of approval ” my opinion”

WowWe Review

Since the decline of our economy, more people are looking for alternative ways to make ends meet. The decline of our economy, has also lead to a surge of Direct Sales companies vying for the attention of people looking for alternative opportunities to make a living, or supplement their income. With all of these companies, products, services, and compensation plans, how do you decide what’s best for you? You need to be educated. From time to time a will write an objective review about Direct Sales companies that pop up on my radar.

Not too long ago I received a call from a man named Joe Lanza. Joe wanted me to take a look at an opportunity called WowWe. I thought that was an odd name for a business, but if you know me, you know that I’ll always hear someone out if there is an opportunity involved. I don’t like to say “NO” until I “KNOW” what it is I’m saying no to. After the call, I researched WowWe and decided to write this article.

WowWe was created in 2007 by entrepreneur and CEO William Starkey. WowWe provides video conferencing and video email to major Fortune 500 companies like Microsoft and IBM, in addition to state and local government agencies. WowWe offers free video email and Video conferencing services for $19.95 a month. The company is global which is always a plus so you have a large potential customer base.

The company touts that they have a plan to add over 1 million new customers within the next 12 months. The WowWe opportunity could be used in conjunction with your current business whether it is a traditional brick and mortar business or Direct Sales / MLM opportunity. I do offer you a word of caution. If you run a Direct Sales business / MLM opportunity: be sure to check your companies by laws before you decide to market another opportunity. Many Direct Sales /MLM companies do not allow the associate to market another Direct Sales / MLM opportunity.  You can join WowWe as an affiliate marketer for an annual of $75 and a recurring monthly fee of $19.95. You can also buy into the premium package for$195. Personally I don’t like the Idea of having to pay a monthly fee to market an affiliate product but I do have to admit the company’s products are stellar.

WowWe Compensation Plan.

After you pay the $75 affiliate fee for the year, and commit to $19.95 a month video conferencing You are considered a WowWe affiliate marketer. Let me add that WowWe will not bill you $19.95 per month if you are able to sell their package to 3 customers, or you are able to sell the opportunity to 3 associates. Once you are considered an affiliate,  you can get paid on the WowWe 3×7 forced matrix.  That means that when you start, there are 3 down line positions under you, and another 3 under each one of your down line, etc… etc… for 7 levels deep.

In my opinion along with my experience in this industry, a forced matrix promotes a welfare mentality. you could potentialy have a group of associates that wait for people to join the opportunity, instead of getting out there and working the business themselves. what is a forced matrix? A forced matrix works like this, when someone above you sponsors someone, they go into the next open slot, which “could” be under you. This is also referred to as “spillover.”

WowWe also offers a 25% bonus paid to you off of all the business generated by your personally sponsored referrals.  So if you sponsor a super star that is making $4k a month, you make 25% off that superstar’s volume. 1k… Not bad!

My Opinion Of The WowWe Opportunity.

Let me start by saying I am not affiliated with WowWe. How much or little you earn with WowWe is largely dependent how “smart” you work, and luck has nothing to do with it. Again while I don’t like the monthly and annul fees associated with being an affiliate. WowWe offers an amazing platform for you to get your message out with video at a price point that is more competitive than any other service of its kind. Before I forget WowWe also has a private label option that I do think is pretty cool for self branding. Want more information? Joe would be happy to answer all of your questions. You can reach Joe at joelanza@223yearplan.ws Southampton, PA 18966 - P 215-460-8485 - www.MyFreeVideoMail.info

Sponsor More People Into Your Business Opportunity

If you’re a network marketer than this should sound familiar, leave no stone left unturned, talk to any and everyone on your list, if they are 18 with a pulse than they need to hear about how awesome your opportunity is. This is how you sponsor people into your business opportunity. Despite all of the so-called online experts out there telling you that this doesn’t work, this is a practice that I still engage in today. The difference is that I don’t do this with intent. What do I mean you ask? Let me explain. I don’t leave the house with the intent on making “x” number of contacts per day. Instead I leave the house everyday with a mindset that I will build a new relationship or strengthen the ones I already have in place, and when the time is right, and “only” when the time is right, I’ll “share “my solution to their problem, not “pitch” my opportunity. I believe there is a stark contrast between the two.

I teach my team that pitching your opportunity is like throwing mud against the wall. If you take that mud, and just keep… slinging it, and keep… slinging it, eventually some of that mud will stick. Does it work? Yeah… but I heard somewhere once that just because you can stop a car with your feet… doesn’t make it a good idea.

Instead, focus on building friendships / relationships. When you focus on building relationships people open up to you and talk freely. Have you ever noticed that people who you have relationships with tell you their joys and pains? Have you noticed that they share their successes and failures?

When you learn to ask the people you have relationships with the right questions, they will tell you exactly what their problem is  how you can solve their problem.

In a previous article I shared with you that it’s better to sell on emotion rather than facts.

Example # 1:

  • Hey Toni you ever think of ways to make extra money?
  • Toni do you keep your option open for ways to earn extra income?

Example # 2:

  • Hey Toni you got a minute? I was thinking about you. Remember we had that conversation the other day and you told me that you love what you do, but you just wish that you made a bit more income so you could afford to take the family on a vacation. Well I’ve been working on a project that’s been helping my wife and I solve that very same problem. Now it’s not for everyone. I’m not even sure if you qualify, but it could be an option for you. Let’s get together tomorrow so I can show you how you can take the family on that vacation you were telling me about.

In example # 2 you are providing a solution to Toni’s problem. Again this ties in to your prospects emotion. Remember facts tell stories spark emotions that drive sales, tapping in to your prospects emotions will ultimately lead to you being able to sponsor more people into your business opportunity.

Now I have to be honest with you. If you’re serious about  trying to sponsor more people into your business opportunity, there is no pill that you can swallow that will make you “Captain Sponsor Man,” but it’s a fact that with this approach you will keep your posture and have more people interested in hearing about your opportunity without having to sound desperate.

This is just one of the many approaches that I share with my team during our regular training sessions. I hope you find it useful as you build your organization and try to sponsor more people into your business opportunity

Better Web Builder Review

An objective review of the Better Web Builder leads generation tool and Network Marketing Opportunity

Better Web Builder is a generic lead generation and training system designed by brothers Art and Rob Phelps. Over the last 20 years both Art and Rob claim to have helped 10’s of thousands of people make more money and improve the quality of their lives. It was 1996 that art and Rob decided to bring their business building tools and marketing systems online. Better Web Builder offers Business Building Tools for free in addition to Internet Services for the growing number of people looking to try their hand at making money by marketing on-line.

Better Web Builder’s all in one package approach to marketing on-line is geared to saving the network marketer or affiliate marketer  members time and money.  The following is a list of some of the features that anyone doing business online these days should find valuable to their marketing efforts. I have to admit the fact Better Web Builder offers quality services for free is an added plus.

Just A few of Better Web Builder’s Services

Online Training

Custom Capture Page Creator

Contact Managers

AutoResponders

Customizable  Blog and Website

Traffic Analysis

Advertising Banners and more added benefits.

The Up Sell

Once you join Better Web Builder you can almost immediately start building traffic pulling pages to attract leads. As I mentioned before, this is all with Better Web Builder’s free service. This is great if you’re a beginner who in most cases is building your business on a shoestring budget.

While it is pretty much the norm to bate customers with the free offer and back door them into paying customers, a Better Web Builder insider informs me that they really push hard for you to upgrade to their  paid memberships.  After all this is a business opportunity.

 Here’s How You Get Paid

Better Web Builder has a Gold Membership plan that is just shy of 30.oo a month. On a unique and positive note Better Web Builder allows you to earn income on 7 levels, which is not  typical of other online lead generating companies, like My lead System Pro.

Art and Robs Better Web Builder system has been designed for you to earn affiliate income while at the same time generate leads for your primary opportunity. This is known in the industry as a funded proposal. Make sure you read your company bylaws, because many MLM / Direct sales companies do not allow its associates to actively build another Network Marketing opportunity. You could potentially lose your down line in your primary opportunity.

My Opinion Of The Better Web Builder Opportunity.

Let me start by saying I am not affiliated with the Better Web Builder opportunity. With all of the free benefits I mentioned earlier, It seems that using Better Web Builder could  be a good tool and starting point for someone just staring out in the Network Marketing industry.

How much or little you earn with Better Web Builder is largely dependent how “smart” you work, and luck has nothing to do with it.

The 5Linx Business Scam

So You’re Interested In Starting A 5LINX Business!

Congratulations on wanting to be in business for yourself. Before you break out your credit card I caution you to do your research 5 LINX Business Opportunityabout any opportunity, regardless of how good things look on the surface. With a down economy, many network marketing companies are on the rise. Many companies promise the world as far opportunities go, and with the excitement surrounding this 5LINX business opportunity, you owe it to yourself to do your homework first.

Over the years, I’ve seen countless MLM / Direct Sales companies pull a Houdini act, leaving crushed dreams, empty wallets, and broken hearts of the associates they left behind. This attributes to one of the many reasons our industry has this negative stigma attached to it today. The question remains… Does the 5LINX business  opportunity has staying power?

5LINX Company, Products, & Services

5LINX is the self-proclaimed leader in Voice Over Internet protocol “VOIP”. This technology allows people to make calls across the United States, Canada, and several other territories, at a cost that rivals other traditional long distance carrier’s rates. 5LINX Flag ship product was the Video Phone when the company launched in Rochester, NY in March 2001. 5LINX video phone allowed users to see each other while communicating. With the advancement of technology and smart phones getting smarter,  5LINX abandoned the project and has moved into wireless phones and accessories, satellite television, Broadband Internet service, energy (gas and electric), security systems, identity theft protection, and a host of business services “breath.”  It would seem that 5LINX is trying to position themselves as the opportunity with something for everyone.

It is a fact that the 5LINX business opportunity has been recognized as a fast growing company, along with many others by Inc. 500 a list of the top 500 revenue gathering companies in the world. Despite being around for nearly 12 years, 5LINX still has not made the Top 20 within the Direct Selling News Global 100. The Direct Selling News is an annual publication that lists the top 100 MLM / Direct Sales companies in the world, along with other valuable information for people involved in the network marketing industry.

Through 5LINXs wholly owned subsidiary, Globalinx, 5LINX is in fact one of the world’s leaders in Telecommunications. The 5LINX business opportunity truly offers savings to their associate / customer base. You have a few options when getting started with the 5LINX business opportunity that range in price. You can start your 5LINX business venture with as little as $99 up to $499. Additional Fees associated with the 5LINX business opportunity  range from $99 annually if you’re not a platinum subscriber and up to $49 a month if you have their platinum service.

My Opinion Of The 5LINX Business Opportunity.

Let me start by saying I am not affiliated with the 5LINX business opportunity. What I can tell you with a clean conscience is that the 5LINX business opportunity is not a scam. If you are willing to take action with a proven system for success you can become successful with the 5LINX business model.

How much or little you earn is largely dependent how “smart” you work, and luck has nothing to do with it.

You’re tired of your sponsors lecture on “do more.” You’ve dumped hundreds of hard-earned income into every how to course you can find, than spent even more money that you didn’t have on the special one on one coaching from a top MLM guru.

I know you have. How do I know? I know because I used to be just like you. All I ever wanted was for someone to teach me how to build my business. After years of frustration, I’m finally building my business. No I’m not a guru. I’m an average guy who still has a job and is quickly building a MLM business. with the skills I’ve acquired, I can honestly say that I can quickly build any MLM business.

I’m currently using this same system to build my business, and help the members of my team. If you find value in it, you are more than welcome to use this blue print to build your business both on and off-line.

Niche:

You need to find a niche market. When you carve out and target a niche, you increase the likely hood of people wanting to purchase or opt in to your opportunity.

A niche market is a distinct segment of a market, full of people who share a common interest. I used Facebook to find my niche and I can show you how I did it. I also use Facebook along with other social media sites to drive traffic to this blog that you’re reading now.. Again you’ll be able to get a higher percentage of inquiries about your product or service from prospects in a niche market because

these prospects have already raised there hands and said they are very interested in what you have to offer.

Did Somebody Say Free Leads:

I use the power of social media to generate fee leads. Having a steady flow of new prospects / customers is the life force behind the success of any business. You also need to have a system that allows you to collect contact information that you can later use to follow-up with prospects, who don’t buy from you off of their first exposure to your offer.

Emotion:

I heard somewhere once that “Facts tell and stories sell” You can have the greatest product or service in the world. The prospect will even tell you this themselves, but if you can’t get them to identify with why it makes sense to buy off of emotion, than you’ll have a lower percentage of purchases’ or prospects signing up to do business with you. You need to become a story-teller, not a sales man. When you make your capture page, YouTube video, etc… you need to tell a story about how the product, service, or business has impacted someone’s’ life, or even your own.

Example

Fact: Fat-B- Gone “for lack of a better name” is the number one selling weight loss supplement on the market. University X studied 500 people over the course of 6 months and found that 98% of the test subjects dropped at least 30% of their unhealthy body weight and lowered their cholesterol levels in a matter of just 2 weeks. World renown Dr G, a leading authority on weight loss and author on several books on the topic endorses Fat-B-Gone, and says that this is a safe and effective way to lose weight for today’s busy life style.

Story: One of our customers named Mary, a single mother of 4, was having problems losing weight after she had her children. She wasn’t lazy, but found it difficult to find time to exercise and eat right with the stress of the 4 kids and two jobs trying to make ends meet. She heard about Fat-B-Gone from a friend and decided to give it a try. In just two weeks she was so excited to find out that she could fit back into those favorite pair of jeans that she had tucked away in the closet for all those years. She felt even better when her doctor took her off of her cholesterol medication because she was doing so well.

Which one of those examples would probably make you want to buy?

The Follow Up:
I teach the members of my team to never leave a meeting with a prospect without a date and time to meet again. I’ve found through trial and error that most of the people I was talking to, didn’t buy my product or service the first time I exposed it to them.

I like to stay in contact for the first few days, and if they don’t sign up I say I’m sorry things didn’t work out. Would you mind if I gave you a call in a three of months to let you know how I’m doing. A lot can change in three months. For most people it’s a timing thing.

Top 3 Reasons To Consider A Network Marketing Business

Top 3 Reasons To Consider A Network Marketing Business

To infinity and beyond:

  • I’m referring to geometric growth to infinity. As a Network Marketer you can leverage your time by building a team of
associates who are trained to market your company’s product and services. This is great because while they are out marketing their own businesses, they are in turn building your organization as well. Make sure the company you’re considering  has a stellar compensation plan among other things before you get involved. Once you are satisfied with the compensation plan and get to work, your well-trained organization should be able to generate multiple sales  that create bonuses for the associates ”them selves” and you “the sponsor”
All In Together now:
  • Part of the allure of Network Marketing is being a viable way to generate a full-time income on a part-time basis, This is why many people across the country and the world are giving our industry a first and in most cases a second or even third look.
Dude… I found the start-up money under my couch cushion:
  • Most Network marketing companies have a fairly low start-up cost compared to traditional  brick and mortar businesses.  This low-cost barrier to entry makes for a very low risk to reward ratio. In a down global economy, more people are willing to take a chance and try to do something different and write their own stimulus check.

Agree / Disagree? Lets talk about it.  leave your thoughts below

MLM, Direct Sales, Network Marketing UGHHHHHH!!!!! Who Cares?

MLM / Multilevel Marketing, Direct Sales, Network Marketing, UGHHHHHH!!!!! Who Cares? Whats the difference anyway. Many have weighed  in and given their two cents to answer this question. I’ll give you my two pennies at the end of the article.

Debating the difference between MLM / Multilevel Marketing, Network Marketing and Direct Sales is an ongoing battle among the many who make a full or part-time living in either.

Even though the universal concept is for products or services to me moved on a sales person consumer model. Most experts would agree that there are different benefits to the seller.

In a Direct Sales organization, more income is given to the distributor when they make a retail sale. Products sold with this model are usually a one time sale of durable, non consumable goods that are often a higher priced. The majority of the profit made in a Direct sales model goes to the distributor who made the sale. The manager, or leader of that organization with in the company also gets a small percentage of the sale. Hmmm! more on that later.

The only way a Direct Sales distributor can earn a percentage based off of  the volume of sales, is if they have been appointed as a sales director / manager by their superior or parent company. Long-term residual income is difficult to obtain in this model because as I’ve stated, most products sold in a Direct Sales model are durable goods and not consumable. I’m sure if you did some research you could find some exceptions to the rule, the insurance industry would be one, off the top of my head… With the Direct Sales model you can earn quick cash with each sale as long as you keep selling.

More and more companies are leaving this model and adopting the Multilevel Marketing model, because its more attractive to the average person looking to earn extra income, who also want to create long-term residual income. For many unjust reasons I’ll share with you in future articles, the Network Marketing arena has a dark cloud over its head. The unjust dark cloud has led to a flock surge of companies who have adopted the Network Marketing model, but try to hide behind the vial of Direct Sales. The goal is to attract a sales force with the “We’re not MLM” motto.

The Multilevel Marketing model allows the average person the opportunity to earn quick cash and at the same time build long-term residual income. Commissions from sales are still  made in a Multilevel Marketing model, but a portion of the sale goes to the sponsors of the organization in various earned leadership levels.

In a Multilevel Marketing model you can build an organization that will consume and sell the products ans services offered by the parent company. If the parent company offers fairly priced products that are of good quality than the distributor has the opportunity to build long-term wealth, because  the ongoing customer use creates residual income.
Residual income:
This is money earned from your initial sales “get this,”  and the sales of the members in the organization you have built. You will continue to earn income from the reorder of that product or service, month after month… and year after year… This would be the same as royalties received by actors, writers, and your favorite singer/rapper. Earning residual income with the Network Marketing model is less challenging when the products are consumable good like vitamins, makeup Energy, etc…
OK here it is, my two pennies on the difference between MLM/ Multilevel Marketing and Direct Sales? Well as it relates to Network Marketing, there isn’t any! They both have to follow the rules as outlined by The FTC, and both have companies featured in the leading publication  that is recognized on a global scale. The Direct Selling News

Agree or disagree. Lets talk about it. Leave me your thoughts below.

When The Economy Is Down, Network Marketing Flourishes.

Hope you have a plan B

Everyone who is anyone knows that during a down economy, the Direct Sales & Network Marketing industry flourishes. Have you ever wondered why this is true?

One of the many reasons  Network Marketing flourishes in a down economy is a will to survive. Innovation comes from trying to solve a problem, and the problem that most Americans are facing in today’s economy is security. That will to survive is further strengthened when people start loosing their jobs and homes. Something has to be done if you want to continue to have a warm place to sleep and food on the table.

One may find themselves open to an opportunity that may not have looked as appealing  before they fell on hard times. When people are willing to step out of their comfort zone and take some risk, that’s when you see individuals flourishing in a Network Marketing opportunity.

People today may also be sick and tired of  being over worked and underpaid. Take in to account that there aren’t a whole lot of opportunities for advancement or raises in  down economy. Competing for a better job may also be extremely difficult. So people turn to owning their own business, and what better business to own than one that has a low cost barrier to entry, and  that you can start in the comfort of your own home.

Running a business out of the home means no loans, employees, or office space. You make money as the people you introduce your opportunity to make their own money.  Simply put… a network marketing business is the perfect opportunity for people who are looking to supplement their income, or start a whole new career path.
With the allure of the chance at becoming free form the limitations of a job, in a down economy many people are taking a second look at the network marketing industry.

As a network marketer you get to offer people hope, by offering them a way out of their stressed financial situations, and that’s something  that’s not very hard to do during these down economic times. In my opinion you  can become successful in a network marketing opportunity as long as the company places emphasis on the people in the organization,  has great products, and support, along with a proven track record. During a down economy traditional companies look for ways to cut back on adverting campaigns.

Those cut backs mean less competition for the network marketer because most network marketers thrive off of the relationships they are able to build with their business partners and customers.
